For today, we offer visiting one of the stops of the holy family in Egypt called Natron Valley, is a basin landform of 60 kilometers long and 12 kilometers wide used during the Pharaonic times to extract the Natron salt, which they used in the mummification process, including, Ein al - hamraa and the monasteries of Saint Bishoy and El-sorian

Itinerary

Day 1

Our tour guide will pick you up from Alexandria port, waiting by the cruise exit door holding a double sign Nile Dream / your name. After that, you will be transferred by an air-conditioned vehicle about 140 km to Natron Valley to visit the following ;

Visit Ein al Hamra

It is the spring of water from the time of the holy family that continued to be a source of freshwater until this day, and it is named, ‘Mariam’s spring’. Later on, the spring’s name was changed to the ‘Hamra Spring’, because a nearby village was developed, and all who lived in the village depended on this spring as their source of freshwater. This spring gave forth abundant amounts of freshwater, which mingled with the surrounding saltwater and extended to hundreds of acres. The water in this area is used for medicinal purposes, to treat various ailments such as psoriasis. Also, through the blessings of the Holy Family who visited the Natron

Visit the monastery of Saint Bishoy

St. Bishoy’s Monastery was established during the 5th century under the supervision of St. Bishoy. This monastery is well known, especially for its prime papal residence

Visit St. Mary’s Monastery El Sourian

This monastery was built in the 6th century over the cave where St. Bishoy used to dwell, known as the ‘Sourian Monastery’ because in the 8th century, monks from the Syrian orthodox church came to spend some time in it, so it carried their origin and both names were united. Hence, it became, St. Mary’s Monastery El Sourian, pause for a lunch in a local restaurant after which you will be transferred to your Cruise ship in Alexandria.
