The mosque was built next to two large public squares and out of several European-style boulevards built at the same time. Many famous people were buried in the mosque such as, Mohamed Reda Pahlavi, '' the Shah of Persian '', some royal family of Egypt, and King Farouk the last king of the monarchy of Egypt.
