In the early morning our tour guide will meet you, and you will be transferred to south Sinai about 450 km. to the monastery of St. Catherine situated at base of the mountain where Moses received the ten commandments. It is one of the most fascinating sacred places in the world. The mother of the emperor Constantino I, ordered to build a chapel in the sacred place, where Moses spoke with God. Later, Emperor Justinian I, ordered a monastery to be built in the same place between 527 and 565 AD, it's believed to be built around Moses Burning Bush. The monastery is named after St. Catherine who was tortured and beheaded for her Christian beliefs in 307 A D. During your visit, you will see the chapel of the Greek orthodox church, the icon of worship and the famous mosaic of transfiguration. St. Catherine is a holy region to world three religions, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, It is a place where early Christianity has flourished and the orthodox monastic tradition still continues in the present day, and where people still live in respect to others, and many events recorded in The Bible took place in the area, also there are hundreds of places of religious importance in the city.
