It is the spring of water from the time of the holy family that continued to be a source of freshwater until this day, and it is named, ‘Mariam’s spring’. Visit the monastery of Saint Bishoy
St. Bishoy’s Monastery was established during the 5th century under the supervision of St. Bishoy. This monastery is well known, especially for its prime papal residence
Visit St. Mary’s Monastery El Sourian
This monastery was built in the 6th century over the cave where St. Bishoy used to dwell, known as the ‘Sourian Monastery’ because in the 8th century, monks from the Syrian orthodox church came to spend some time in it, so it carried their origin and both names were united. Hence, it became, St. Mary’s Monastery El Sourian, pause for a lunch in a local restaurant after which you will be transferred to your Cruise ship in Alexandria.
